Perfection

The Sun’s journey through Libra places emphasis on relating and relationships. One would like to be liked, to have a friend, a companion. A simple warm-hearted gesture like a hug could seal the deal. 

One expectation which militates against genuine relationship is that of perfection. ‘Perfect’ is actually rooted in terms that, going back to Aristotle and the notion entelecheia, potentiality fulfilled in being actualized, suggest fulfillment, completion. In our time, too often is the perfectionist syndrome a sharp needle jabbed into an otherwise fine relationship. Imagine throwing darts at another. It is a pointed and piercing matter which begs the question, “Why?”

The dynamic can go both ways. One can feel needled by another’s imperfections, or throw a few darts oneself.

On this day of the equinox, listen for people to change their tune. In business, for example, a ’no’ answer yesterday may be a ‘yes’ today. Relationships can bond on a deeper level. Information and communication stalls can begin to flow freely.

Not to belabour the point, however it is perhaps worthwhile to not throw pointed missiles at anyone… including yourself. Know also, that words can be as piercing as real darts. Better to be hospitable and strive for connection, not perfection.
