This Sabian symbol is illuminated at 7:38 PM EDT October 21 Presience Three bumps on the head: recall the Taoist sages whose large foreheads sport three bumps signifying Heaven, Earth and Man. Hole in the net: the world, as we tend to filter it through our experience, is a web of tacit beliefs which form a hair-net for the mind. To escape, go outside. Let the breeze move awareness across an open sky. Mountains with legs: the sum total of human knowledge of the earth is completely surpassed by the experience of running damp soil through your finger tips while savouring the rich earthy emanations. The earth is alive; mountains walk slowly in their own time; gardens grow as seasons sing. You ask about grounding? Even in the imagination, the feel and smell of soil, sand and stone resets everything… instantly. And so, Earth: soil… hummus… grounds and motivates. Heaven… sky… like the path of a bird flying through open space, leaves no trace. Man: it is care that generates sense. Take a minute to sit with yourself or your lover, as the case may be. See with feeling as your eyes receive. Listen as if witnessing the well-appointed auditorium inside the other. Speak sweetly, touch with tenderness, for care is the way of being as long as we live. Rameau said, “If life is what you make of it, then we are all great poets. Even thinking that, startles me to wakefulness.”
