There are times when, in a busy world of crowds and bustle, innocence finds a way to still the frenzy of imposing rules on all activity.
Today, there is a high likelihood of acceptance and tolerance in many situations. It is as if all the heated fuss about immigrants and peoples of foreign traditions drops away. Let’s hope that turns out to be true, even if for a brief while.
The campaign against immigrants and those of other faiths is a card played on fears of the unknown. “Let’s build a wall on the border!”, says the bigoted brainiac. Then, along comes Mary and her little lamb. Suddenly, it occurs to a few that the rules, walls and enforcements are hurting the young and innocent.
Whether you are for or against the political powder keg of the ‘wall’ and its implications for living in this world, today can be a fine day of experiencing people as human beings regardless of stripe, colour, or poor fashion sensibility. For those who see others as having a heart, with longings and care for loved ones, a spark of humanism may re-ignite a perspective of acceptance. I bet that will feel good.
