Stability

There is an apparent stability to the massive rocky shore. It withstands relentless waves pounding and, like human existence, seems to hold together fairly well over time.

The greater truth about a rocky, massive shore is that water eventually wins. Life could be seen as the journey to land’s end. In human terms, the shore indicates a passage from one element to another, from earth to sea. The passageway, which we call the shore, stops us short. The edge of land is cut, as it were, by the vastness of the open sea, even if a yonder shore is suggested by the horizon. 

In most day to day activity, human being depends on stabilities, assuming that some things never change. Then, the rude fact of existing cuts through everything. The journey comes face to face with its end. In such moments, the thoughtful man brings matters of worth to a great reckoning.

This is no time to paint the antiques, nor to settle for a cheap plastic version of what was once a well-crafted instrument. Choose quality. Gently call it into your life whether in material terms, honourable agreements or relationships. How do you do this? Only the shore tells us how a man stands in this world, therefore stand on you own rocky massive shore with generosity of spirit, strength of character and constancy. In this way, human relations hold together, for others, not all, but those who choose freely, will join a man who so stands, reliable and steadfast.
