Raising the standards
The encouragement to improve standards… ethical, behavioural, moral, personal and so on… is a good thing.
There are times, however, when such encouragement comes with reproval, judgment, or an unending critical regard of never being quite good enough. In the Virgoan nightmare… when refinement slips into the pools of ill-mood… the movie is called, “Death by ten-thousand paper-cuts”.
Today, patience will help all work efforts. Dealing with rules and authority takes its own sweet time. There can be frustration about progress or the apparent lack of it. If there are details that must be dealt with, take your time. Patiently execute every worthy action one by one.
Be alert for finding minute flaws in yourself or in others. Be alert for over-compensating when asked to raise your standards. You could move mountains and still be found wanting for a grain of sand.
The point: personal refinement accrues by way of mindful awareness brought to minute details of immediate experience stretched over a span of non-homogenous seasonal life. “Non-homogenous seasonal life” means that there are slow seasons and vibrant seasons, fallow times and fertile times: with a rainbow of nuance in between. if you believe that all space and time are the same… homogenous… then you probably suffer from one-season trauma, the antidote for which is known as Pisces.
There is no itemized accounting, nor score tally for the growth of human character. This is why the Virgoan journey is so misunderstood. Even if you count every grain in a pile of rice that stands taller than yourself, the count will fall short.
What to do: one thing at a time. Polish each moment of detailed action with attendance… wax on; wax off. Polish each breath with awareness: every breath is fraught with immediacy and potency. When tired, rest. Resist adding up your score card for the day, however, do look forward to another day of character refinement tomorrow.
